2016 NFL Draft: Ravens have the 3rd pick as of week 11

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

A last second facemask penalty and referee miss is the perfect synopsis of the Baltimore Ravens season so far as they fall to 2-7 after losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The best they can do at this point is 9-7, which likely wouldn't get them a wild card playoff spot. Since we can't look forward to the playoffs, we can look forward to the draft. As of right now, the Baltimore Ravens hold the 3rd overall spot.

They are currently tied up with 4 other teams at the 2-7 spot, but the Ravens .507 strength of schedule has them only above the Tennessee Titans, who have the 2nd spot to themselves. At the first spot is a team that is no stranger to high draft picks, the Cleveland Browns. The Browns took a beating from AFC North rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday despite knocking starting quarterback Landry Jones out of the game. Instead of going after a hurt Ben Roethlisberger, they allowed him to torch them for nearly 400 yards and 3 touchdowns.

With 7 more games left, the Ravens could very well hold the top spot and select first when next April's draft sneaks up on us or they could win out from here and have a mid-round selection just to screw with us. With fans already clamoring for pass rusher Joey Bosa, a large part of our followers have started wishing the Ravens tank the rest of the way to ensure they can get him.
