According to Field Yates, the Ravens have tried out former Browns first-round pick Phil Taylor. The defensive lineman has not been added to the team as of yet, and it is a little confusing on why they would show interest now unless there is an injury we are unaware of at this time.

The Cleveland Browns cut Taylor back in September after reaching an injury settlement with the lineman. Taylor was recovering from knee surgery in the offseason, but still was a stout run defender in the center of the Browns defensive line.
The former first-round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft would be making his homecoming to Baltimore where he grew up before attending Baylor as his college of choice. In the 4 seasons Taylor has played, he has seen action in 44 total games. While not known as a pass rusher, Taylor still has 7 sacks throughout the years.
Again, I'm not too sure where Taylor would fit on the active roster given that the Ravens have more depth on their defensive line than they do at any other position grouping, but adding a former first round pick is never a bad idea. While there has been no word on Taylor's signing, here's hoping that the big man can stay healthy and make an impact somewhere.
