Brandon Williams is surprisingly short for a defensive tackle. He's only 6'1". Maybe that's why he looks like someone took an All-Pro safety and just inflated him a few times too many.
He's also gained a very serious distinction: as of today, he's the top rated tackle on ProFootball Focus. He's one of the best run defenders in the game today. He's also probably the Ravens' best--he clocks in much higher PFF's scale than anyone else on the team. Defensive tackle is a position noted frequently for...well...it's lack of note in general. It's hard to get a lot of attention when your job is very literally to occupy other human beings so that the people behind you (whose arms are not the size of fourth-graders) can either smother a runner or go get the quarterback.
Yet, here we are.
The big man in the middle has finally gotten his dues. In a year when all of the Ravens' other potential Pro-Bowl defenders--like Mosley, the Smiths, and Sizzle and Doom--have either been injured or failed to live up to expectations (or both), please, everyone appreciate what the human tanker in the middle of our line is accomplishing.
