The Baltimore Ravens and all pro right guard Marshal Yanda agree to a contract extension which will have Yanda signed through the 2019 season.
The deal comes as a bright spot in what has been a disappointing season for the Ravens as it looks like Yanda will certainly retire a Raven. The 31 year old right guard was entering the final year of his contract with the team. The contract extension will also create more cap space for the Ravens this year.
With Yanda locked up, the Ravens can now focus to their attention to kicker Justin Tucker and left guard Kelechi Osemele.
Yanda, a four time consecutive pro bowler, has been the anchor for the Ravens since he was drafted as third round pick in the 2007 season out of Iowa and has quietly made a case as a potential hall of fame caliber player.
Yanda's ability to play right guard, right tackle and be a center in a pinch has provided the Ravens a luxury with his talents that a lot of teams wish they had in a league where talent along the offensive line is declining. Yanda is an exception as he is easily one of the best offensive linemen in the NFL.
