The Ravens continued their losing ways this past week, digging the hole deeper and deeper. The odds of them solving the issues with this team seem to be remote at this time, as are their playoff odds which keep shrinking.
Per Number Fire:
Projected Record: 6.45 - 9.55 (Change: -1.04 wins, 1.04 losses)
Playoffs: 4.8% (Change: -11.64%)
Division: 1.16% (Change: -5%)
Conference Championship: 0.4% (Change: -1.28%)
Super Bowl: 0.14% (Change: -0.66%)
Power Rankings: 17 (Last Week: 13)
Barring the Ravens ripping off a large winning streak, the team is destined to miss the playoffs for only the second time in the years John Harbaugh and Joe Flacco have been at them helm. While this is disappointing, it just goes to show you how hard it is to sustain winning from year to year.
The Ravens will likely have their highest first round pick since 2008, when the team traded down from 10th overall and took Joe Flacco 18th overall. The hope is that the down year will lead to the team drafting a premier player who will join Brandon Williams and Jimmy Smith in revitalizing the defense with Terrell Suggs on the downside of his career, and Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and Haloti Ngata no longer with the team.
