Ravens vs Browns: Ravens felt injuries on all fronts

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

If I were to go down the list of previous injuries and ones sustained in Sunday's game against the Browns, you'd probably want to throw up. Because the game is a loss and I'm a sad and sick person, I'm going to do that to you.

WR Steve Smith Sr.
WR Michael Campanaro
WR Darren Waller
WR Breshad Perriman
CB Lardarius Webb
CB Kyle Arrington
CB Rashaan Melvin
CB Will Davis
S Matt Elam
TE Dennis Pitta
TE Crockett Gillmore
T Eugene Monroe
RB Lorenzo Taliaferro
RB Justin Forsett
DE Chris Canty
OLB Terrell Suggs
OLB Elvis Dumervil

These are the players that missed the game against the Cleveland Browns or were injured during it. That is 6 pass catchers, 5 defensive backs, 2 running backs, and 3 pass rushers.

While most Ravens fans can look back to the 2014 season to see a team that was decimated by injuries, I doubt you could look at this list and see anything but the same. Except instead of it being just the secondary, it is in just about every important position you could have on a football team. Outside of Joe Flacco, the Ravens have been hit with the injury bug so hard that I think head coach John Harbaugh has a concussion.

While the extent of the injuries sustained to players during Sunday's game against the Browns are not quite known, the thought of the Ravens missing any of these players at this point puts fear into me as a writer and as a fan of the Ravens. Going 1-4 for the first time in franchise history only highlights how terrible these injuries are to this team.

The Ravens hopes of the playoffs are quickly disappearing and if any of these injuries linger, those hopes will disappear quicker and quicker.
