C.J. Mosley's bid for the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year came up short. On Saturday, it was announced that Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald won the award.
Donald received 25 votes to the 18 given to Mosley. Raiders linebacker Khalil Mack received six and 49ers linebacker Chris Borland had one.
Mosley had a great shot at the honor given the success he had on the field this season. He finished with 133 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions and one forced fumble. Mosley's tackle total led all rookies in the NFL. Mosley also earned a trip to the Pro Bowl, the first time that ever happened for a Ravens rookie.
Donald totaled nine sacks and 48 tackles during his rookie campaign.
