Last year, the Ravens' search for an offensive coordinator was exhausting. It seemed to last longer than it did, just because in today's world, coaching searches are generally quite short.
Compare that to this year and it's night and day. Marc Trestman, just like that, is Baltimore's offensive coordinator.
Trestman, much like Gary Kubiak a year ago, is coming off of a disappointing season where expectations were set rather high heading in. The Bears had just paid Jay Cutler a ton of money and he had Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery to throw the ball to.
However, it was turnover after turnover and a performance to forget on offense, sans Matt Forte, who brought his A-game each and every week.
The flip side to this is that you can probably blame Cutler's shortcomings more so than Trestman in terms of Chicago's failure. Up until this year, Trestman has been seen as someone with a great offensive mind.
So now it's your turn. Is this a good hire?
