Sessler: Lorenzo Taliaferro ranked third best rookie running back

Around the NFL's Marc Sessler says Baltimore Ravens running back is the third best rookie in the league.

As of Sunday, September 21, fourth-round draft pick rookie Lorenzo Taliaferro is a household name. Sparing no time for others to tune in, LT's first pair of carries totaled 16 yards before an exhausted Browns' defensive line gobbled him up at the line of scrimmage on his third attempt.

The rookie's one-yard gain issued the front four a warning: this is just the opening drive, you've clocked in for a long day.

Offensive Coordinator Gary Kubiak neglected to board the Taliaferro Train in the offense's second drive, a frustrating 12-second session that resulted in punting on fourth down from deep inside their own territory.

On Flacco and Co.'s third march, Kubiak generously fed the first-year pro the rock, watching the powerful rotor slash through the tackles and bounce outside for 62 total yards. Stonewalled on 3rd-and-1, the thick bruiser pounded through -- which capped a scoring drive courtesy of a Joe Flacco-to-Kyle Juszczyk pass-and-catch for six.

Around the League's Marc Sessler listed Taliaferro under Starting Potential along with 49ers' Carlos Hyde, Bengals' Jeremy Hill and Titans' Bishop Sankey. Indeed, with the Browns' Isaiah Crowell and Terrance West heading the pack, four ball carriers on Sessler's Top 10 hail from the AFC North. Watching the growth and development of these four, barring injury and setbacks, should be amazing to watch.

C.J. Mosley and Steelers' Ryan Shazier headlined Sessler's Week 2 article of his "Rookie Watch" series. Browns' cornerback Justin Gilbert and the ubiquitous Johnny Manziel also made the list. I've noticed, since the series' inception, Sessler has not shied away from professing his support for Hill, Shazier and West. Browns' inside linebacker Christian Kirksey made a cameo in Marc's first piece two weeks ago.

Fans of AFC North teams are in for some serious, action-packed weekends.
