The Ravens won Sunday's game against Cleveland but lost one of its key contributors on offense.

During his Monday press conference, Ravens coach John Harbaugh announced that tight end Dennis Pitta had surgery on his right hip and will miss the remainder of the 2014 season.

Pitta dislocated and fractured his right hip during training camp a year ago. Once he went down during the 23-21 win, it was clear that this was a fairly significant injury.

The Ravens have some other options to turn to in Pitta's absence. They can move Owen Daniels up as the top tight end with Crockett Gillmore working in on two-tight end sets. In addition, the Ravens have the option of lining fullback Kyle Juszczyk up as a tight end more due to his receiving skill set. Juszczyk did have three catches for 54 yards and a touchdown.

The Ravens could also add another tight end to the roster.

Of course, the corresponding roster move would be putting Pitta on injured reserve, so a tight end addition wouldn't be at the expense of another member of the 53-man roster.
