Reports: Bernard Pierce '95% chance he doesn't play'

Look for a steady dose of Justin Forsett and Lorenzo Taliaferro in the Ravens backfield versus the Browns.

Due to the off-field circus surrounding the Ravens, the backfield has taken a major hit since the release of running back Ray Rice. Today's game against the Browns was the first game he was originally allowed to return to after his suspension and the team could surely use him.

According to NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhabwala was told by a source within the Ravens that there was a "95 percent chance he doesn't play" referring to starting running back Bernard Pierce. Pierce has been battling a thigh injury and was added to the injury report on Thursday, which doesn't bode well for a players chance to play that Sunday.

The Baltimore Sun's Aaron Wilson has also confirmed the report saying there's some "serious doubt" about Pierce playing today. He'll be a game time decision.

Pierce often gets a bad rap due to his name often showing up on the injury report, but the third year running back has never missed a game due to injury.

If Pierce is out, NFL journeyman Justin Forsett will get the start. Look for Forsett to be utilized much as the Ravens were planning on using Rice prior to his suspension. This also means the team will likely give rookie 4th-round pick, Lorenzo Taliaferro, his first carries of his career. Taliaferro is a big back and could really be utilized in goal line and short yardage situations.
