The Juice was loose.
After a season where he rarely played on offense, fullback Kyle Juszczyk got some time with the first-team offense during Thursday night's 23-3 preseason win over the 49ers. Juszczyk was impressive, too, catching three passes for 28 yards, including a 17-yearder from quarterback Joe Flacco on the first drive of the game.
If Thursday is an indication, the Ravens have big plans for Juszczyk in 2014.
"Coach [John] Harbaugh has talked about stacking days, so we're just going to continue to stack days," Juszczyk told reporters following the game. "We're going to come back tomorrow, watch the film, get a little bit better and just continue this way."
Juszczyk figures to be used in a similar manner to how offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak used James Casey in Houston. A season ago, Casey, who saw more time as a receiving option after Owen Daniels got injured, finished with 330 yards and three touchdowns.
Juszczyk could be in line for some similar numbers if not better. His athleticism and use as another weapon on offense could make it difficult for teams to account from him, whether he's lined up in the backfield or as a tight end.
