Ravens sign nine to practice squad, including John Simon and Ryan Jensen

Simon is back with the Ravens but with the practice squad.

2013 fourth-round pick John Simon was surprisingly waived on Saturday, when the Ravens had to trim their roster down to 53 players.

By Sunday, he'd cleared waivers and decided to come back to the franchise as he signed a practice squad contract. The organization announced nine players have signed practice squad deals, with one spot remaining on the group. The players on the practice squad are Simon, running back Fitzgerald Toussaint, offensive lineman Ryan Jensen, tight end Phillip Supernaw, quarterback Keith Wenning, cornerback Tramain Jacobs, nose tackle AJ Pataiali'i, cornerback Deji Olatoye and defensive tackle Jamie Meder.

All nine of these players were with the Ravens during the preseason. Jensen, like Simon, was on the 53-man roster a year ago as a part of the 2013 draft class.

The Ravens appear to have at least one more move to make before they fill out the 10th practice squad.
