Despite a strong performance in Baltimore's final preseason game, 2013 fourth-rounder John Simon didn't do enough to be on this year's 53-man roster.
The Baltimore Sun's Aaron Wilson is reporting that Simon has been waived.

This shows how irrelevant the fourth preseason game can be. This decision would have been made prior to the game, and regardless of what Simon did, he didn't have a shot at making this year's squad.
With Simon now out, there has been no word at this time on undrafted rookie Zach Orr, who has seen a lot of time on special teams this preseason. Though Orr is an inside linebacker, it's possible Orr supplanted Simon in the coaches' eyes.
Simon's dismissal is more evidence that the Ravens, in hindsight, aren't pleased with the work they did with the 2013 draft class. Of that group, Simon, receiver Aaron Mellette, cornerback Marc Anthony and center Ryan Jensen are no longer with the team.
