Monday Ravens links: Timmy Jernigan showing aggression, players with something to prove

Some Ravens fans were taken aback a bit when the organization drafted Florida State defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan with its second-round pick.

After all, the Ravens already had plenty of numbers up front and it wasn't seen as a perceived need. But Jernigan has gotten off to a fast start in organized team activities, impressing the coaching staff.

The Baltimore Sun's Aaron Wilson writes that Jernigan has "shown an aggressive personality on the practice field."

Only Ryan Tannehill was sacked more times than Joe Flacco a year ago. Flacco also threw a 22 interceptions in 2013, the most in a single season in his career.

Purple Reign Show's Phil Gentile lists Flacco among four other Ravens players as guys with something to prove this year.

Though Chris Canty is the favorite to once again start as Baltimore's five-technique defensive end, Russell Street Report's MIke Fast writes that the starting spot should be up for grabs heading into 2014.
