First round pick CJ Mosley officially signs his rookie contract, making him a Raven for real.
While draft picks have slotted amounts, there still is some negotiations for certain bonuses or more specifics that will affect the player down the line that take some extra time to iron out. However, Mosley's contract is worth $8.787 million and includes a $4.711 million signing bonus over 4 years.
First round picks also have a fifth year option that I'm sure we will hear more about in the next few years with Mosley. Former first round pick Jimmy Smith just recently had to deal with his fifth year option as the Ravens utilized it to keep him a Raven for another year and have another year to work on his contract with him.
Mosley was the Ravens' first pick in the 2014 NFL draft, taken with the 17th pick in the first round out of Alabama. He is expected to fight for the starting inside linebacker job with Arthur Brown to start next to Daryl Smith. This makes third round pick, safety Terrence Brooks as the only rookie left unsigned, which is expected sometime this week.
