Joe Flacco not expecting Ray Rice to be suspended

Flacco believes Ravens will have Rice for the entire season.

Not that Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco is an expert on how the NFL handles suspensions under the personal conduct policy, but he has a prediction for what will happen to running back Ray RIce.

In Flacco's estimation, nothing will.

Speaking to the Newark Star Ledger at the Ron Jaworski Celebrity Golf Challenge, Flacco offered his take on Rice, who was arrested and charged for allegedly assaulting his now-wife Janay Palmer.

"I don't foresee anything crazy happening with that," Flacco told the newspaper. "I'm expecting to have him [for the entire season]."

That's an interesting take, considering Rice was seen on camera dragging Palmer out of an elevator, a situation that looks fairly bad in the court of public opinion. Even if nothing materializes in the legal matter, the NFL could suspend Rice for a couple of games, and you'd have to think he will if recent history is indicative of anything.

Of course, what else is Flacco going to say here? That his star running should and deserves a suspension? That won't happen. Flacco knows how to handle these kind of questions by now. He's not going to dodge questions and he'll be forthright and honest.

But he's not going to slam a teammate during this time of the year, causing unnecessary drama in the workplace.
