Ray Rice, Joe Flacco rank in top 50 of NFL jersey sales

Despite down year, fans are still buying Ravens jerseys.

Their sales aren't at Ray Lewis' level, but Ray Rice and Joe Flacco's jerseys are still being bought by enough people to place them in the top 50.

The NFLPA released the top 50 jersey sales of the past fiscal year. Rice's jersey finished No. 28 and Flacco was No. 35.

Here's the complete list:

Not bad, considering the Ravens went 8-8 last year and didn't make the playoffs. On top of that, Flacco isn't exactly a player revered outside of Baltimore (and even in town he has his detractors).

Rice's sales could take a hit next year, given the legal issue he's in. Of course, that remains to be seen, and a lot of that could change based on how he plays the 2014 season and how he handles the off-field situation in the coming months.

We'll see if another Ravens player can creep into the mix next season. If I had a guess on one particular player seeing a huge jump in jersey sales it would be on Torrey Smith, a fan-favorite that's turning into a leader inside the Ravens' locker room. I have a feeling you'll continue to see more No. 82 jerseys around M&T Bank Stadium on game days.
