Ray Rice arraignment conference set for Thursday

Stems from aggravated assault case from February.

US PRESSWIRE

Ravens running back Ray Rice's arraignment conference was pushed back to Thursday, after it was originally scheduled to take place today.

The Baltimore Sun's Aaron Wilson reports that the arraignment will take place at 8:45 a.m.

Rice and his now-wife Janay Palmer were arrested at Revel Casino in Atlantic City, N.J. for aggravated assault. Rice was later seen dragging an unconscious Palmer out of an elevator. Palmer's charges were later dropped while Rice picked up a third-degree aggravated assault charge. He was indicted by a grand jury.

While the nature of the allegations are severe, Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti and coach John Harbaugh made it clear Rice will be on the roster in 2014.

This season will be bounceback year for Rice, both on the field and off. His reputation has taken a beating after years of community service around Baltimore. And as a running back, Rice only had 660 yards and four touchdowns in 2013.
