Report: Ravens, Eugene Monroe still talking about a potential deal

The Baltimore Sun reports that even though the two sides were far apart days ago, they're still talking about a potential deal.

It's still possible the Ravens work out an agreement with left tackle Eugene Monroe.

Yes, there appears to still be a chance.

Just a few days ago, it appeared the Ravens and Eugene Monroe would be unable to work out an agreement and that he'd head elsewhere.

In the words of Lee Corso, "Not so fast."

With the way the legal tampering period has worked out thus far, it appears Monroe may wind up falling into the Ravens' lap after all.

Branden Albert is being linked to Miami and Jared Veldheer is now being reported as Arizona's top candidate at left tackle. And then there's this, from the Baltimore Sun's Aaron Wilson:

Wilson also filed a story stating the Ravens and Monroe have continued talks and that a compromise between both sides could result in a deal somewhere between $8.5 million and $9 million.

However, with Veldheer linked to the Cardinals, it appears the Raiders have been talking to Monroe's representation as well over the weekend, as well as some of the other top free agent tackles.

Stay tuned, folks.
