Hewitt is entering his third season with the Ravens, spending his the previous two under special teams coordinator Jerry Rosberg. He'll now work under Steve Spagnuolo, who was named the defensive backs coach earlier this offseason after spending the 2013 season as a defensive assistant.
Hewitt coached cornerbacks at Rutgers in 2008-2009 before moving to running backs for the 2010 and 2011 seasons. He has 11 combined years of coaching experience. His first job was as a strength and conditioning assistant at Notre Dame in 2003.
The Ravens also announced the hiring of Billy DeLorbe as a cross-training specialist. DeLorbe spent the previous 10 years as a master trainer at the Maryland Athletic Club. According to a team press release, DeLorbe will be in charge of strengthening the players' "flexibility and mobility with an emphasis on core strengthening and improved balance."
