Smith apparently had visits lined up next week but decided against it. The Ravens did one heck of a sell job to bring Smith in and convince him he was someone the franchise needs this coming season.
This move addresses two pressing needs for a slot receiver and a veteran presence in the locker room. In a recent radio interview, Smith acknowledged he's no longer a No. 1 receiver. But he still has plenty left in the tank. He's also a physical receiver with speed, despite his 5-9 stature, and should be able to aid Joe Flacco and the passing game.
