It looks like the Ravens have reached out to the college ranks to find their running backs coach.
According to a report from CoachingSearch.com, the Ravens will hire Wisconsin running backs and assistant head coach Thomas Hammock. Hammock will fill the position left vacant when Wilbert Montgomery and the Ravens decided to part ways in January.
Hammock was on the Badgers' coaching staff the past three years. Prior to that, he served as the University of Minnesota's offensive coordinator.
While at Wisconsin, Hammock coached Montee Ball to two of the most productive seasons for any running back in NCAA history. In 2011, Ball ran for 1,923 yards and 33 touchdowns. In 2012, he ran for 1,830 yards and 22 touchdowns. Ball was drafted by the Broncos in the 2013 NFL draft.
