All good things come to an end.
For Ravens fans, this is certainly true on a day like this. Saturday marks the final day the Ravens can claim they're defending Super Bowl champions.
Sure, John Harbaugh went to great lengths last offseason to say that the 2013 campaign was in the past and that they couldn't consider themselves defending champions.
Fans will never think that way. For the past year, the Ravens were the NFL's reigning title-holder, going on an improbable run to defeat the Colts, Broncos, Patriots and 49ers to win the Super Bowl. It was a run that will forever be remembered by Ravens fans everywhere.
But after Sunday's game, the Ravens won't be defending champs anymore. That title will be tagged to either Seattle or Denver, based on the outcome.
It was a good ride for the Ravens, one that won't be forgotten. You can bet the Ravens will be back in the postseason mix next year after missing the playoffs for the first time in the past six seasons.
So Ravens fans, enjoy this day and think back to the many moments that led to Baltimore's Super Bowl title a season ago.
