Kamar Aiken becoming a key role player on Ravens offense

Don't look now but Kamar Aiken is making some key plays on offense.

David Manning-USA TODAY Sports

Since the season-opener against the Bengals when he had four receptions, receiver Kamar Aiken hadn't had more than two grabs in a game leading into last week's meeting against the Chargers.

Since, he's had nine catches and has become someone Joe Flacco has turned to in the passing game. This was evidenced with Aiken getting six receptions for 65 yards and a touchdown — both the receptions and yards single-game highs — in Sunday's 28-13 win over the Dolphins.

This followed a three-catch, 51-yard performance against San Diego. This means 116 of his 254 yards for the season have come in the past two weeks.

Aiken won't be the focal point in the passing game but he's becoming quite the role player. If Aiken can continue to be a reliable receiver for Flacco, this offense will only continue to get better at the most important time of the season.
