Ladies and gentlemen, Asa Jackson is officially back.
No, he's not a Jimmy Smith caliber of a cornerback, but man, Jackson, activated to the 53-man roster on Saturday, is certainly an upgrade over what the Ravens have recently been forced to put on the football field. Jackson will presumably start opposite of Lardarius Webb this Sunday against the Dolphins.
To make room for Jackson, the Ravens placed rookie cornerback Tramain Jacobs on injured reserve with a thigh injury.
Jackson was previously on the injured reserve-designated to return list due to a toe injury sustained against the Colts.
Though Anthony Levine has been Baltimore's starting cornerback in recent weeks, you'd have to think Jackson is better suited to be the second corner in base looks, with Jackson or Webb moving into the nickel spot in sub packages.
For the season, Jackson has 19 tackles and one pass deflection.
