The Ravens are in the playoffs thanks to a fantastic fourth quarter against the Cleveland Browns and the Pittsburgh Steelers won the AFC North division against a Bengals team that seems destined to implode yet again this year. Yet again, the Ravens will face off against the Steelers for the third time in a season. Betting lines are already in for the Wild Card game on Saturday night and the Pittsburgh Steelers are favorites by three points.
This is not a surprise as the Ravens and Steelers split their matchups in 2014, each win by a margin of 20 points. The Ravens won early in the season at M&T Bank Stadium with a final score of 26-6 but were bested in week 9 on a game at Heinz Field that saw 'Mean' Joe Greene's number retired, but a final score of 43-23. The three point swing to the Steelers is simply due to the home field advantage, meaning that even Vegas has no clue who should win this one.
Both teams are dealing with some major injuries. The Ravens secondary has been the story all year as they are depleted and starting guys that hadn't suited up for any team all season. Meanwhile, the Steelers are keeping a careful eye on running back Le'Veon Bell, who injured his right knee against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday night. Initial reports are that it is just a hyper-extended knee, but he is undergoing more imaging to see if any ligaments were torn. Regardless of the outcome of that imaging, it is not a good thing for the Steelers to be without their Pro Bowl rusher entering a matchup that will require everyone to buckle up their chin strap extra tight.
Another playoff game with the Steelers, gotta love this division and hard hitting football!
