After winning in week 15 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Ravens have increased their odds of getting into the playoffs. As Jason has pointed out earlier today, the Ravens are currently in the sixth slot for the AFC Playoff picture.
Our friends over at NumberFire have done some calculations on the Ravens odds and they are looking pretty good. At a whopping 73.44% chance of making the playoffs, the Ravens and fans have to love that. Currently, the Ravens have a better chance of making the playoffs as a Wild Card contender (52.94%) than as the AFC North Division leader (20.50%). This comes in third in the AFC North as the Pittsburgh Steelers are the odds favorite to win the division at 45.72% with a 32.56% chance to get in as a Wild Card. The Bengals top both, but are second in odds favorite to win the division at 33.78% with a much better chance as a Wild Card with a 45.80% chance. Cleveland rounds out the rest of the AFC North with a 0.00% chance of winning the division.
- Pittsburgh Steelers - 45.72%
- Cincinnati Bengals - 33.78%
- Baltimore Ravens - 20.50%
- Cleveland Browns - 0.00%
- Baltimore Ravens - 52.94%
- Cincinnati Bengals - 45.80%
- Pittsburgh Steelers - 32.56%
At this point, it is clearly the Ravens' playoff spot to lose and with a little help, the Ravens' division to lose as well. First, the Ravens just need to take care of the Houston Texans and the Cleveland Browns in the final two weeks to control their fate.
