The poor guy never stood a chance.
Timmy Jernigan. Terrell Suggs. Elvis Dumervil. C.J. Mosley. Pernell McPhee.
All of them made a permanent home in the Jaguars backfield, terrorizing Blake Bortles in a sack-fest that surely will get him a sympathy card from David Carr and Archie Manning.
Jernigan had two sacks, Suggs had 2.5, McPhee had 1.5, and Dumervil and Mosley ach had sacks of their own. The Jaguars lost 60 yards as a result of those sacks, most notably when Bortles was sacked twice during a drive at the Ravens' 9, forcing Jacksonville to settle for a field goal.
Mosley and Jernigan look like solid players for the future of the Ravens defense and Mosley continues to make a strong case to be the first Ravens to win Defensive Rookie of The Year since Terrell Suggs in 2003.
Dumervil and Suggs both have double digit sacks as they try to make a case for the NFLs' most dominant linebacking duo and frankly the Ravens might have the NFL's best linebacking squad right now.
Dumervil is still tied with Justin Houston for the NFLs' sack title with 17.
The Ravens front seven looks to be solid for years. If they can get some help for Jimmy Smith in the secondary, the Ravens defense should be killer.
