Ravens-Steelers inactives: Arthur Brown active for the first time this season

Owen Daniels (knee) is active and S Terrence Brooks is a healthy scratch. Chris Canty will also play, too.

It took nine weeks but linebacker Arthur Brown is active and will play Sunday night against the Ravens.

Having been a healthy scratch all season, the former 2013 second-round pick will see some playing time tonight. He'll most likely be used as a special teamer with little time seen in the linebacker rotation. Fans have wanted to see more of Brown this season but Zach Orr had previously been activated on game days. Orr is down against Pittsburgh.

A week after being a healthy scratch, running back Bernard Pierce is activated. That signals the Ravens' desire to run the ball quite a bit tonight with three backs available. Safety Terrence Brooks is perhaps being punished for his poor coverage against Mohamed Sanu a week ago as he's a surprise healthy scratch against Pittsburgh.

Most importantly for the Ravens, tight end Owen Daniels (knee) is active and will play tonight. Here's the inactive list:

RAVENS INACTIVES: WR Michael Campanaro, CB Jimmy Smith, S Terrence Brooks. LB Zach Orr, OL Gino Gradkowski, DE Lawrence Guy, OL Jah Reid.

STEELERS INACTIVES: QB Landry Jones, WR Justin Brown, CB Ike Taylor, SS Ross Ventrone, CB B.W. Webb, NT Daniel McCullers, OG Chris Hubbard
