Former Ravens Trent Dilfer and Rod Woodson were guests on the Rich Eisen Show on DirecTV. They talked about some interesting tidbits during the Ravens first AFC Championship and Super Bowl run.
Some of the more interesting points discussed were about the thoughts of a quarterback, how Trent Dilfer hated head coach Brian Billick, Woodson feeling that the Ravens could have repeated had Dilfer returned the following year and other highlights and that Rod Woodson thought that the team only needed 3 points to win.
Tune to the 10:51 mark to hear some of what was discussed, but really the whole thing is a great listen.
Trent Dilfer is one of the least appreciated Ravens of all time given what he did for the team. Given that he said he was hurt that season and that he didn't fully understand the offense and could have improved, it is a rather curious point that both he and Woodson makes and one where you have to wonder if the Raven repeat the following year with the same quarterback under center.
Obviously things happened a certain way and we ended up where we are now, but a nice little look into the past and maybe some information that we as fans didn't fully know makes it interesting. Fully props go to Rich Eisen for putting these two guys on together and talking to them both as friends and as fans of their work so that they opened up like they did.
