Report: Ravens to re-sign cornerback Dominique Franks

Dominique Franks, who played with the Ravens this preseason, is being brought back to the 53-man roster.

Nope, Tramain Jacobs won't be promoted as I thought could be the case.

Instead, the Ravens are going back to someone they brought in during the preseason — and no, not Derek Cox. According to The Baltimore Sun's Aaron Wilson, the Ravens will re-sign cornerback Dominique Franks.

With cornerback Asa Jackson, who started some games this season due to Lardarius Webb's back injury, heading to injured reserve-designated to return, the Ravens are in need of some depth at the position. Franks provides that while being familiar with the system. It also seems that the Ravens were able to beat the Lions to the punch, as Franks was scheduled for a tryout in Detroit.

Franks' preseason began rather slow but ended somewhat strong. Franks will get back to competing with Chykie Brown for the third corner spot in the rotation.
