Ravens matchups to watch against the Atlanta Falcons

Jimmy Smith vs. Julio Jones

Roddy White has lost a step (and his hands), Levine Toilolo is a major step down from Tony Gonzalez, and I don't trust any team to run against the Ravens. That makes this matchup the most vital, and I like Smith's ability.

Ravens pass rush vs. Falcons offensive line

The Falcons are missing their starting center, as well as both their starting tackles. Putting pressure on Atlanta's offensive line will make everyone's job easier. That sound you hear is Terrell Suggs, Brandon Williams, and Elvis Dumervil celebrating.

Ravens Offense vs. Falcons Defense

The Falcons' defense is actually ranked worse than the Buccaneers. Look for everyone to have a big day — running backs, Steve Smith, Torrey Smith, Joe Flacco, Owen Daniels, anyone.

Ravens defense and special teams vs. Devin Hester

Devin Hester is one of the best return men in the history of the NFL and the Falcons have gotten creative with their use of Hester. Frankly, I don't expect Hester to get much action in the return game, seeing as the Ravens offense has a favorable matchup. But on offense he's a weapon if he plays on Sunday.

Ravens ILBs vs. Antone Smith

Smith has either caught a pass or ran the ball for a long touchdown. Ravens linebackers C.J. Mosley and Daryl Smith will look to prevent Smith from breaking a big play.
