Ravens offensive players on pace for some great numbers

It's now Week 7 and the Ravens are on pace to set some records on offense.

Cliff McBride

Six games in, we'll take a look at what each prominent player is projected to record for the rest of the season:

Joe Flacco

Current Stats: 220 attempts, 140 completions, 1,596 yards,  12 TDs, 3 INTs, 1 fumble

Projected Stats: 587 attempts, 373, completions, 4,256 yards, 32 TDs, 8 INTs, 3 fumbles, 73.4 QBR, 97.8 Passer Rating

Flacco's projected 4,256 yards would be a career high and surpass Vinny Testaverde's 4,177 in 1996 for a franchise high. His projected 32 TDs would be one short of Vinny Testaverde's 33, but would still be a personal high. His 8 INTs would be less than any Ravens quarterback that's played a 16 game season and would be a personal low. His 63.6 completion percentage would be a career high and his QBR and passer rating would be career highs.

Justin Forsett

Current Stats: 64 rushes, 408 yards, 3 TDs, 21 first downs

Projected Stats: 171 rushes, 1,088 yards, 8 TDs, 56 first downs

Obviously Forsett isn't on pace to break any of Jamal Lewis' records. However he's on pace for some career high rushing numbers, as well as a nice rebound from the worst rushing attack in Ravens' history.

Lorenzo Taliaferro

Current Stats: 40 rushes, 196 yards, 2 TDs, 11 first downs

Projected Stats: 107 rushes, 523 yards, 5 TDs, 29 first downs

Taliaferro looks to have a promising future here in Baltimore.

Bernard Pierce

Current Stats: 47 rushes, 175 yards, 1 TD, 11 first downs

Projected Stats: 125 rushes, 467 yards, 3 TDs, 29 first downs

Pierce is on pace to bounce back from his miserable 2013 season, but he's surely below the expectations the Ravens had set at the start of the season.

Steve Smith

Current Stats: 35 receptions, 573 yards, 4 TDs, 22 first downs

Projected Stats: 93 receptions, 1,528 yards, 11 TDs, 59 first downs

Steve is on pace to top Michael Jackson's franchise high 1,201 receiving yards, but his projected 11 touchdowns fall three short of Jackson's 14. Only Smith's 16.4 yards per catch would be a career high.

Torrey Smith

Current Stats: 15 receptions, 227 yards, 3 TDs, 12 first downs

Projected Stats: 40 receptions, 605 Yards, 8 TDs, 32 first downs

Smith is on pace to tie his career high 8 touchdowns, but is on pace for career lows in every other statistic.

Justin Tucker

Current Stats: 16 FG attempts, 13 FGs made, 17 extra points attempted, 17 extra points made, 56 points scored

Projected Stats: 43 FG attempts, 35 FGs made, 52 extra points attempted, 52 extra points made, 149 points scored

Tucker is on pace to score more points in his career, but kick less field goals than last year (35 vs. 38), but kick for more extra points, which raises the scoring. Tucker is on pace to have a career high eight misses and a career low 81.3% accuracy rating on field goals. But it appears that his misses thus far are the result of long attempts.

The offense is on pace for some great things. Combined with a defense that is keeping opponents out of the end zone, the Ravens are already positioning themselves for a postseason run.
