Receiver Tandon Doss re-joins Ravens

With the need for another receiver, the Ravens have re-signed Tandon Doss, who was released a week before the regular season began.

Needing depth to its receiving corps, the Ravens re-signed receiver Tandon Doss to its 53-man roster, according to a report from Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun.

Doss was drafted in the fourth round of the 2011 draft and was training to fill Anquan Boldin's role, for whenever Boldin left the organization. When Boldin was traded to San Francisco this offseason, it was expected that Doss would work in as Baltimore's primary inside receiver.

Doss had a sub-par training camp and preseason, which included being lashed out by John Harbaugh and Joe Flacco during a preseason game against Carolina. Doss rebounded and had a solid game against St. Louis, catching five passes for 75 yards.

It wasn't enough, though, and Doss was waived on the NFL's 53-man roster cut down day.

However, an opportunity has arisen with Jacoby Jones out for the next month. With Deonte Thompson still nursing a sprained foot, there was an immediate need for a receiver.

With the free agent market at receiver thin, it makes sense for the Ravens to bring Doss back into the fold.

In two seasons, Doss has seven receptions for 123 yards and a touchdown.
