"So you're telling me there's a chance?"

Much like Mary Swanson gave Lloyd Christmas a slight chance of being with her in the 1994 comedy Dumb & Dumber, the Ravens are offering the possibility that tight end Dennis Pitta could return this season.
As you all know, Pitta dislocated and fractured his hip during practice earlier this preseason. There was no ligament damage, however, which means his recovery may not be as long. The Ravens could now place Pitta on the injured reserve-designated to return list if they felt inclined to.

This is great news for both the Ravens and Pitta. This indicates that Pitta's rehab process could be in the three-to-five month window. If so, he could be back in December or for a playoff run in January.
In the meantime, the Ravens have added both Visanthe Shiancoe and Dallas Clark to the roster to give the Ravens depth at the position. Ed Dickson, who has an injured hamstring at the moment, is still expected to be back by the season-opener.
