Ravens' Flacco: Strongest Arm In NFL?

New, comments

Not only is he the reigning Super Bowl MVP, but does the Ravens QB also own the title as the strongest arm in the league?

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco came out of little University of Delaware, drafted in the first round despite never really facing the nation's top notch college competition. So what did the Ravens see in the young signal-caller that gave them hope he could one day lead his team to the Super Bowl and earn the game's MVP trophy?

Part of the attraction had to be his rocket arm, rumored to be among the strongest in the NFL. According to the video above, it was the strongest in college football. The story by FoxSports.com included this video which shows a young Joe outdistancing the competition by almost a dozen yards ahead of the next longest throw.

Not that the level of competition in that skills contest comes anywhere close to what the NFL offers, but beating the likes of Boston College's Matt Ryan and Michigan's Chad Henne is still something for Flacco to be proud of. According to the story, former Philadelphia Eagles QB and current NFL analyst Ron Jaworski agrees that while Joe has competition at the top, he does indeed have the strongest arm in the league.
