RAVE-TV EARNS REGIONAL EMMY AWARD
The Baltimore Ravens’ broadcasting team, RAVE-TV, was honored over the weekend with its 21st regional Emmy Award.
RAVE-TV won the award for outstanding achievement in sports feature programming for a piece named "Tunnel Vision." The 2012 cinematic feature followed Ravens players from the beginning of gameday warm-ups throughout the national anthem.
“We are honored to be recognized by the NATAS Chapter and our peers with an Emmy Award,” Ravens production manager Jay O’Brien stated. “Receiving an Emmy for ‘Tunnel Vision’ is particularly rewarding because of the number of RAVE-TV crew and Ravens players who made this feature possible.
“We utilized over a dozen camera angles, as well as on-field player sound, to give Ravens fans an unprecedented look at the M&T Bank Stadium pre-game experience, and this feature would not have succeeded without the access our organization provides. We share this award with the Ravens organization, and especially with Matt Birk, James Ihedigbo, Sam Koch, Haloti Ngata, Ray Rice and Torrey Smith, who all contributed to the feature’s success.”
The Emmy Awards ceremony was held Saturday night at the Marriott Waterfront in Baltimore. Ravens vice president of broadcasting Larry Rosen, director of broadcasting administration Don DiRaddo, O’Brien, broadcasting manager Matt Brevet and production coordinator Eddie Coughlan were all part of the winning production.
