Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata is #42 on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2013. Ngata is only the 6th player from the Super Bowl XLVII winning team to make the list, with 70 of the names released so far. The final 30 are sure to include a few more, such as QB Joe Flacco, RB Ray Rice and WR Torrey Smith.
Ngata was 9th in the 2012 rankings, but played most of the year with an injury of some sort, to his shoulder or knee. Ngata commended a ton of attention, so his production may have gone down as the double-teams increased. Of course, not having OLB Terrell Suggs for half the season and ILB Ray Lewis for the other half, can certainly hurt any player's production.
Haloti hurt his knee again in the Super Bowl and missed the last part of the game.He has been seen around the team's Practice Facility and should be ready by the time the games count in the standings. However, for now he is taking it easy and letting the younger players and rookies get their reps, while knowing he will be in there at defensive tackle once the season starts.
