Anquan Boldin Off To Hot Start With 49ers

Boldin is quickly becoming Colin Kaepernick's "go to" guy.

Anquan Boldin hasn't wasted any time showing his new team who's the man. In his first set of OTA's with his new team, the San Fransisco 49ers, Boldin supposedly stole the show.

"The veteran receiver stole the show during the San Francisco 49ers' Tuesday practice, hauling in all 10 passes thrown in his direction. Boldin was the best offensive player on the field "by far," according to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat."

Baltimore Raven and Arizona Cardinals fans are used to seeing Boldin show off his exceptional hands in preseason. The Ravens asked Boldin to take a pay cut this season in order to stay with the team. Unfortunately that was something Anquan was just not willing to do so the team sent him packing to San Francisco for a sixth round draft pick. It seems the 49ers may have gotten one of the steals of the off season, especially with their number one receiver now out for the season.

Boldin has stepped right in and is picking up the system quickly according to head coach Jim Harbaugh:

"He's really picked up the system fast, and is making plays and big catches in tight areas," 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh said, via the San Jose Mercury News. "You saw what we've been seeing for a couple weeks now."

The former Raven is saying all the right things as well. Baltimore has had a rich history of letting players go just at the right time. However, this may be one of the first instances in which they immediately regret their decision.

"He's a special talent. He can make any throw on the field," Boldin said. "I want Kaep to be comfortable. Even if it doesn't look like I'm open, give me a chance."
