When looking at the top 101 players for 2012, as ranked by Pro Football Focus, you have to be patient scouring the list before you see a member of the Baltimore Ravens listed. The story, PFF's Top 101 of 2012, counted down from number 101 (Blair Walsh, K - Minnesota Vikings) to number 1 (J.J. Watt, DE - Houston Texans).
If you started with Watt's top ranking and looked back towards the rest, you have to scroll down to #32 before you see any player on the Ravens. When you finally do, while you might expect it to be Ray Rice, Joe Flacco, Torrey Smith, Anquan Boldin or one of their many defensive stars.
However, you would be wrong and probably a bit surprised to find out the top Ravens player on the list is right guard Marshal Yanda. To be fair and supportive of Yanda, he was ranked #34 in 2011 and PFF's justification is hard to argue with when you read their key stat:
32. Marshal Yanda, RG, Baltimore Ravens (34th)
For so often the top right guard in the league, nothing changed in 2012. As reliable as it gets in pass protection and a powerhouse with his run blocking, there may not be a more reliable player in the league at any position than Yanda. Always gets the job done.
Best Performance: Week 4 versus Cleveland, +5.2
Key Stat: Had a Pass Blocking Efficiency rating of 98.4. That’s the best for all right guards in the league.
Other Ravens players that made the list included WR Anquan Boldin (#63), RB Ray Rice (#92), and QB Joe Flacco (#100).
