Coming into his rookie year in the NFL, Justin Tucker had already earned a reputation for his confidence and his ability to stay cool and perform well in high-pressure situations throughout his career at Texas (evidence). After going 40-49 in two seasons as the Longhorns' kicker, Tucker's success continued in the the NFL; going 30-33 and making every extra-point attempt. And now he's going even a step farther:
“It’s not unrealistic to say that I can have a perfect regular season kicking field goals and extra points." (via Baltimore Ravens.com)
While it is certainly a bit of a lofty goal for the second-year kicker to make such a statement, it is certainly refreshing to have a kicker with such confidence; a commodity the Baltimore Ravens have not had since the days of Matt Stover.
And while we're making lofty assumptions, I'm going to make one of my own. Justin Tucker will be the best Baltimore Ravens kicker of all-time when it is all said and done. Yes, even better than Matt Stover.
