With the 24th pick in the 2nd round, the Ravens select...

The Ravens traded their 2nd round pick (#62), 5th (165th) and 6th (199th) with the Seattle Seahawks to move up to the 24th spot in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

Arthur Brown, inside linebacker, Kansas State. This is the guy that so many people here on Baltimore Beatdownwere clamoring for the teamin take inthe first round, much less the latter part of round 2.

Brown is a typical Ravens player, hard hitting and will perhaps step right in and start like first round selection, Matt Elam. At 6'1" and 241 pounds, he has the proto-typical size for a 3-4 inside linebacker. He is tough against the run and can drop back into coverage, meaning that he should be a three-down linebacker.

According to NFL Draft Scout, Brown will make a lot of teams drafting ahead of the Ravens jealous within a short period of time. Here is more of what they said:

04/21/2013 - 2013 NFL DRAFT: FIVE BOLD PREDICTIONS: 5. One linebacker becomes an All-Pro...Arthur Brown of Kansas State got little press in Manhattan and isn't yet a headliner, but he'll make like NaVorro Bowman and go from overlooked rookie to most wanted in short order. Brown can play inside or outside linebacker and his experience stopping the run and in coverage showed scouts he'll play all three downs with the kind of verve coaches want from their defensive captain. This isn't a knock on Manti Te'o or Alec Ogletree as much as a nudge to the limelight for Brown. - Jeff Reynolds, The Sports Xchange
