In less than 48 hours, we'll find out whether Dennis Pitta will make his season debut.
Hampered with a fractured and dislocated hip sustained this preseason, coach John Harbaugh told reporters on Friday that Pitta could play against the Vikings this Sunday.

That's been the thought all along since Pitta returned to practice, that he'd make his season-debut for this game. Of course, setbacks can happen — Percy Harvin in Seattle is a good example of that. That said, Pitta himself appears to be feeling closer to a return without giving away whether he'll suit up or not.

Pitta accounted for 669 receiving yards and seven touchdowns a year ago. As one of Joe Flacco's favorite targets and best friends off the field, his presence in this offense could provide an added spark at the right time of the season.
We'll find out whether he'll go soon enough. The first step is for Pitta to be activated to the 53-man roster from the IR-designated to return list, which has to happen before Saturday at 4 p.m. if he's going to play this week. If that happens, we'll find out an hour and a half before kickoff whether he's good to go.
