In almost six complete seasons, Joe Flacco has rarely played in dome stadiums.

Part of that has to due with the AFC North not having any domes in the division. Another part of it would be by chance. Not often have the Ravens have been scheduled away games against dome teams.

After a season filled with crazy weather in games against the Bears, Jets and Vikings, the Ravens will be in a controlled environment at Ford Field in Detroit. It could be something Flacco and his teammates look forward to.

Counting the playoffs, Flacco has played nine games in indoors stadiums. Three have been at Reliant Stadium, which is a retractable roof stadium, to which Flacco has a 2-1 record. Inside true domes, Flacco is 2-4. Two of those losses came at the RCA Dome against the Colts.

Flacco also started losses against the Vikings (2009) and Falcons (2010) inside their dome stadiums. His last two trips to domes have gone well, defeating the St. Louis Rams 37-7 in 2011 and winning Super Bowl XLVII last year.

Inside a true dome, Flacco has averaged 252.8 yards, 1.8 touchdowns and 1 interception per outing. Yardage and scoring wise, it's slightly better than his career average (including the playoffs), which is 222.1 yards, 1.3 touchdowns and 0.8 interceptions per game.

Flacco's last two games in true domes have been impressive. In 2011, Flacco threw for 389 yards and three touchdowns inside St. Louis' Edward Jones Dome. In the Super Bowl at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Flacco completed 22 of 33 passes for 287 yards and three touchdowns en route to a 34-31 championship win.

Flacco will look to continue his dome success in Detroit this week. After braving the elements in a handful of games this season, there will be no worry about that this coming Monday.
