Greetings, from new Baltimore Beatdown writer Kris Jones

Fellow Ravens fans,

Hi, my name is Kris Jones and it's a pleasure to join the SB Nation community as a Ravens contributor for Baltimore Beatdown. Many of you may know me as "Goob," a nickname that I haven't been able to shed for most of my life.

For the past 18 months, I was one of Russell Street Report's lead writers, covering the Ravens from the Under Armour Performance Center on a weekly basis. If you're familiar with my previous work, you'll know that I try to structure my stories in a way that doesn't align with typical mainstream media.

In the media, being a fan of the team you cover is looked down upon, but I make it no secret I root for these guys, get pissed when they lose to the Steelers, or any team for that matter, and will light up a cigar and drink some victory bourbon after each and every win.

Aside from now writing for SB Nation, I'll be broadcasting on 105.7 The Fan as a co-host of the Purple and Black Attack with former Ravens Super Bowl Champion, Brad Jackson. During football season, a Ravens player will accompany Brad and me from 6:00 to 8:00 each and every Thursday evening.

I'd also like to invite all of you to join us on location at Hightopps Backstage Grille in Timonium where you'll have a chance to meet the players up close and personal. So far this season, we've already had guests to the likes of Ray Rice, Chris Canty and Art Jones spend the evening with us.
