Ravens Shoot Down The Jets, Win 19-3

Rob Carr

After a heart-breaking loss last week in overtime against the Chicago Bears, the Baltimore Ravens went into today's game desperately needing a win to stay in the hunt for a play-off berth. They got one.

The first half seemed to be a battle of "who has the better kicker" in which the Baltimore Ravens won, as Justin Tucker connected on all three of his attempts to put the Ravens up 9-3 heading into the locker room at halftime. The young Tuck again asserted his dominance as he started off the second half by connecting on a 53-yard attempt to make him 22-of-24 for the season, and put the Ravens up 12-3.

The Ravens' defense was swarming all day long, forcing the New York Jets into a bountiful amount of three-and-outs. Perhaps the biggest contributor on defense today was Corey Graham, who picked off two passes in critical situations to keep momentum on the Ravens' side.

An incredible 66-yard touchdown pass to Jacoby Jones via Joe Flacco in the third quarter helped put the Ravens up 19-3; all but locking up this victory for Baltimore.

The Baltimore Ravens needed this win in the worst way to recover from last week's crushing defeat. Not only did they get it, they also got a Miami Dolphins' loss which effectively puts the Ravens in prime position to gain control of the AFC's sixth play-off seed next week against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Let's all take a second to thank the Carolina Panthers for beating the Miami Dolphins.

What a game, what a day! Enjoy it, fellow Ravens fans, and have a wonderful Sunday evening!

GO RAVENS!!!!!
