Baltimore Beatdown's Ravens-Jets prediction

Here's the prediction for Sunday's Ravens-Jets game.

Larry French

The Ravens are looking for a win to stay alive in the AFC Wild Card race.

Beating the Jets would certainly help, given they're 5-5 and in the final playoff spot at the moment. A win would jump Baltimore ahead of the Jets, with more ground to gain on other teams.

The Ravens could face a problem running the ball after finding a great deal of success a week ago. The Jets boast the NFL's top-ranked rush defense, which could be problematic for Ray Rice and a group that's struggled most of the year.

On offense, this game could rest on the arm of Joe Flacco and how effective the passing game is. Torrey Smith could be in for a big game, given the Jets rank 22nd against the pass at 250.8 yards per game.

The Ravens' defense shouldn't have much of a problem slowing down a Jets offense that features rookie quarterback Geno Smith, who has turned the ball over plenty of times of late. If the Ravens can rattle him early, expect a much-needed win Sunday afternoon at M&T Bank Stadium.

Prediction: Ravens 20, Jets 16
