The Ravens' offense struggled through three quarters against the Cleveland Browns in a 14-6 win during Week 2.
But it didn't matter too much because of how the Ravens were able to stifle the Browns on defense, keeping yards at a minimum and not giving up any touchdowns. The only points the Browns were able to score were two Billy Cundiff field goals in the first half.
The Ravens shut the Browns out in the second half, holding Brandon Weeden to 227 yards on 21-of-33 passing for the game. Weeden's numbers looked a little better than they were as he was uncomfortable in the pocket throughout.
This time, though, the Ravens will face Jason Campbell, a veteran who was once an NFL starter that's now getting another chance. Weeden was injured at the end of the Ravens game and then the Browns turned to Brian Hoyer the following week. Hoyer produced well until before tearing an ACL.
Campbell earned the start last week against the Chiefs and had a good outing, throwing for 293 yards and two touchdowns. He posted a 105.4 quarterback rating and helped keep the game close. Keep in mind the Chiefs boast one of the NFL's best defenses.
The Browns are certainly better served with Campbell as their quarterback instead of Weeden.
"Really the only thing that has changed is the quarterback," coach John Harbaugh told reporters Monday. "The quarterback has moved around. They've been looking for that answer, obviously. The offensive line continues to improve. They've been protecting the passer better and better all the time."
By no means is Jason Campbell a quarterback NFL teams fear. But he's an upgrade over Weeden, which makes the fact Weeden opened the year starting behind two quarterbacks better than him baffling. The Browns will look to get their receivers involved a good bit due to the lack of a running game.
It'll be on the Ravens' defense to limit the big plays downfield. It'll also be on the offense to score more than just 14 points this time around.
