O.J. Brigance will make an appearance at a local book store tonight to promote his new book Strength of a Champion: Finding Faith and Fortitude Through Adversity.
Brigance and his wife Chanda will be at the Greetings and Readings book store at the Hunt Valley Towne Centre. They will stamp autographs onto each copy for those in attendance from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday night.
Brigance has become the inspiration of the Ravens' organization. A former player for the Ravens, and a member of the 2000 Super Bowl champions, Brigance was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gherig's Disease in 2007. As a result, Brigance has no muscle function from the neck down.
His book details the struggle he deals with and how he's had to persevere through the obstacles in front of him. The book also details the 2012 Super Bowl champions from his point of view.
As it's been said before, the 2012 Ravens were inspired by Brigance's resiliency. As it turns out, the 2012 Ravens inspired Brigance too.
The book includes a foreword written by former Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis.
